IDGC of Centre approved its repair program for 2017 - one of the key components of the preparation for the next season of peak loads. The company plans to use over 1.99 billion rubles for its implementation.
Within the framework of the adopted document within a year the power company will repair about 4.4 thousand km of overhead lines of 35 - 110 kV, more than 11.4 thousand km of 0.4 - 10 kV and 4,408 transformer substations.
Particular attention in the implementation of the repair program is paid on clearing ROWs, as trees falling on electric wire is the most common cause of emergency power cuts, especially in times of natural anomalies. In 2017 the company plans to clear 11.4 thousand hectares.
Repair work will begin in April, upon completion of the end of the autumn-winter operation period, when it will be possible to switch off equipment in need of repair, and will be completed by early October. Implementation of the bulk of the work will be in summer 2017.
To improve efficiency and optimize production costs the program will be executed primarily by own forces - the power company will perform about 70% of the total scope of the planned work on its own, and 30% with involvement of contractors. This measure is aimed at ensuring the reliable operation of electric grid facilities with limited tariff sources for modernization of the electric grid, and a significant rise in price of materials and equipment.
To improve the reliability of power supply complex repair of equipment this year is scheduled for a number of large supply centres: a total of 162 substations. In particular, in the Belgorod region the complex repair is planned for the Substation 110 kV "Red Yaruga", which provides electricity to a total of about 15,000 consumers in the region.
The Kostroma branch of IDGC of Centre in 2017 will repair 10 substations of 110 kV, including the Substation 110/35/10 kV "KPD", which is located in the "Volgorechensky" industrial park area. Electricity from the substation "KPD" will feed a new plant for production of pipes of mid-diameter for the oil and gas industry "Gazpromtrubinvest" and a plant for production of drilling rigs of the US company "National Oilwell Varco".
Yaroslavl power engineers of IDGC of Centre will perform overhaul and current repair of power transformers at the Substation 110/10kV "Chaika", which provides electricity to residents and businesses of Frunzensky district of Yaroslavl, the largest of which is Yaroslavl brewery.
In the Orel region it has been planned to repair the most important substation 110/35/10 kV "Kommash" that feeds a large plant-manufacturer of road and municipal vehicles JSC "Mtsensk Engineering Plant - KOMMASH".
Lipetsk power engineers will carry out major repair of transformers of the Substation 110/6 kV "Pipe-22" to ensure supplying electricity to a newly built neighbourhood of the city of Lipetsk - "Star".
The repair plans of the Tver region included the Substation 110/35/10kV "Mednovsky Water Intake" which feeds Mednovsky Water Intake that supplies water to the city of Tver.
According to First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin: "The main purpose of the implementation of the repair campaign is to provide reliable power supply to consumers in the service area of IDGC of Centre. Timely and quality repair of equipment allows power engineers to significantly minimize the risk of emergency situations at the company’s electric grid facilities during autumn-winter peak loads, as well as to maintain stable power supply during abnormal weather conditions."
