Employees of IDGC of Centre provide reliable power supply to consumers in the period of low temperatures

Due to the established in the territory of the Central Federal District abnormally cold weather IDGC of Centre’s power engineers implemented a set of measures for the maintenance of reliable and uninterrupted power supply of the population, trained in preparation for the autumn-winter operation period of 2016-2017. Socially important institutions and facilities responsible for water supply and heating of the population are under special control. To date, all electric grid facilities of IDGC of Centre have been operating normally.

All eleven branches of IDGC of Centre do the around the clock monitoring of operation of the electric grid facilities and also continuous control over the actual weather data that are emerging in the areas of location of power supply facilities.

For rapid response to possible emergencies IDGC of Centre has made available 1,019 first responding and restoration crews of Distribution Zones and 88 first responding and restoration crews of the power line services. 540 mobile crews are on operational duty. 90 crews of increased mobility composed of 530 people and 166 vehicles are ready to respond to the emergence of mass technological violations and assistance to other electric grid companies. Operation and availability of 567 redundant power supply sources has been checked, with their total capacity of over 20 MW.

Forces on duty and the technical staff have organized snap inspections of power equipment. All personnel of IDGC of Centre has taken an additional briefing on work at low temperatures and has been provided with all necessary equipment, materials, special vehicles, and overalls for work in cold weather.
