Power engineers of IDGC of Centre are ready for bad weather

17 November 2016

Due to unfavourable weather forecasts power engineers of IDGC of Centre have mobilized forces and means. According to weather forecasters, over the next three days in the territory of the Central Federal District deterioration of weather conditions is expected, including temperature repeatedly passing through zero. Fluctuating temperature conditions may be accompanied by freezing rain and squally wind. Often, this meteorological situation contributes to sticking of wet snow and formation of ice on trees and power lines, and becomes the cause of falling trees on wires. Fallen trees and stuck snow can lead to breakages of transmission lines and power outages.

In case of technological failures IDGC of Centre has 1,647 crews, 3,200 vehicles, including off-road, 567 stand-alone back-up power sources are ready for firs responding operations.

In addition, in case of need crews from other regions of the Central Federal District may be involved to work.

Please, be reminded that recently PJSC "Rosseti" introduced the unified management of its subsidiaries of IDGC of Centre and the IDGC of Centre and Volga Region. As the practice has shown, the model adopted by "Rosseti" has allowed to significantly increase the efficiency in eliminating technological violations during adverse weather conditions.

Power engineers urge people to be vigilant and observe safety rules. The company IDGC of Centre requests residents to assist and promptly report facts of interruption in the power supply via the around the clock "hot line" of the power company at 8-800-50-50-115. The call is toll-free.

consumers from the sphere of housing and communal services and simply considering this type of business unprofitable for itself, Transservisenergo took an easy decision to abandon it. IDGC of Centre as a socially responsible company in its entirety will fulfill obligations under the pick-up and implementation of the functions of supplier of last resort. It is clear that only a large company, which is ready to take full responsibility to consumers, must engage in this activity and makes clear the issue of settlements between generators, consumers and grid companies.

Please, be reminded that IDGC of Centre has already had the experience of the immediate pick-up and execution of functions of a supplier of last resort. By the decision of the Ministry of Energy of Russia: during 2013 the company took over them in the Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Tver and Smolensk regions. In all cases, the reason was the accumulated debt of previous suppliers of last resort for electric energy and power. The functions were transferred for the transitional period, before the tenders for selection of new suppliers of last resorts. In the Orel region IDGC of Centre performed them until February 2014, in the Kursk and Tver regions - until April 2014, in the Bryansk and Smolensk regions - until June 2014.
