IDGC of Centre’s power engineers are ready to operate through bad weather

According to weather forecasters in a number of regions of Central Russia there is a cyclone. In the Belgorod, Kursk, Orel, and Tver regions it is associated with little precipitation in the form of snow and wind up to 7 m/sec. In the Bryansk and Smolensk regions there is also snow, sometimes heavy.

Due to adverse weather conditions IDGC of Centre’s power engineers are taking some preventive measures to avoid negative effects of rampant disaster.

At present the company has prepared for first responding operations 1,647 crews (8,378 persons and 3,200 specialized vehicles), including 90 crews of increased mobility composed of 530 people and 166 vehicles.

They have checked the operation and stocking of standby power supply sources. During bad weather some special control over the work of power facilities has been set, fire safety measures have been enhanced, interaction with territorial divisions of EMERCOM and executive authorities has been organized.
