The museum of the history of the Tambov power system at IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division became a member of the International Event "Night of Museums-2016", held on the site of the Tambov regional country study museum. Power engineers held for children and teenagers an interactive workshop on electrical safety "Magic world of electricity".
Traditionally, within the "Night of Museums" these institutions not only provide access to static display, but also prepare for visitors special programs whose main purpose is to show the modern possibilities of the museum space. This year’s event was timed to the 150th anniversary of the Russian Historical Society and the Year of the Russian cinema. The museum’s workers prepared a large poster, including fascinating and informative programs that allowed to get acquainted with ancient artifacts, rare collections and interesting cultural sites.
Employees of Tambovenergo, for their part, offered an interactive master class, which blended in with the program of activities of the Tambov regional museum. The power engineers in an entertaining form told the children about the history of electricity, introducing them to the basic electrical safety rules. Participants of the master class were able to watch a film about the inventor of the incandescent lamp, a native of the Tambov province Alexander Lodygin "Russian Prometheus", themed cartoons on electrical safety, to study specialized literature, published on the initiative of IDGC of Centre. The children learned how far from power lines they may throw bait while fishing, how to get out of the danger zone when there is a fallen broken wire, how to distinguish between the standard incandescent lamp from energy-saving light bulbs. Themed colouring books and quizzes, organized by the power engineers, helped consolidate their knowledge.
"Every year the number of participants of the event "Night of Museums" constantly grows. We have long-standing fruitful partnership with Tambovenergo. Many thanks to Tambov power engineers for the initiative and fascinating master-class," says the scientific secretary of the Tambov regional country study museum Olga Cherkasova.
"Tambovenergo pay serious attention to the prevention of electrical injuries with children and adolescents. We understand that this is not an easy topic to understand, so we try to use a variety of information formats. And, apparently, we succeed. The children showed great interest in the master class, we received a lot of positive feedback from parents. Therefore, we plan to hold such events in the future," emphasizes the head of public relations of Tambovenergo Svetlana Grom.
