Employees of the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre were awarded memorial signs of the Russian Ministry of Defense

Eighteen workers, veterans of the Armed Forces of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division were awarded memorial signs of the Russian Ministry of Defense "100 years of air defense" in accordance with the order of the Commander of the Air Force of the Russian Federation. Insignia were established by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to celebrate in December 2014 the centennial of Air Defense Forces.

On behalf of the High Command of the Air Force the awards were handed by staff commander of the air defense, the head of mobilization preparation and civil defense of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division, a retired colonel Vladimir Chavkin.

"At all times air defense soldiers selflessly and honourably fulfilled their tasks. This arm of service had real trial by fire in the Great Patriotic War. 92 warriors of the air defense system at the time were awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. Today, these troops, in fact, "battle alloy" of missilemen, wiremen and pilots who reliably protect the sky of our country," stressed Vladimir Chavkin.
