9 April 2015

IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division received a Letter of Gratitude from the administration of Rodionovo-Nesvetaysky district in the Rostov region. Leadership of the municipality expresses sincere gratitude to the Voronezh power engineers for the prompt and high quality work to restore electricity supply in the district interrupted with bad weather.

Please, be reminded that 28-29 March, the Rostov region was hit with strong gale-force winds and heavy rainfall. Hurricane, which demolished huge structures and knocked down trees, and icing of wires caused a power failure in a number of districts of the region.

22 crews from other grid companies in the Group "Russian Grids" moved to help Don power engineers. A total of 200 crews of 600 people with 254 special vehicles, all necessary materials and equipment, were involved in first responding and restoration operations. Among them were power engineers of branches of IDGC of Centre as well: three mobile crews of Belgorodenergo and Voronezhenergo with a total number of 38 persons with special vehicles.

The Voronezh branch was represented by specialists of Anninsky, Bobrovsky, Kalacheevsky and Liskinsky Distribution Zones - experienced, hardened in the struggle with the elements employees who had repeatedly proved their professionalism and dedication in the aftermath of bad weather in the central and southern regions of Russia. Among them - Deputy Head of distribution grids of Voronezhenergo Vladimir Tyrnov, a master of mobile crews operating distribution grids Evgeny Klyuchko, Yury Lavoshnikov, Oleg Trineev. Their service area was Rodionovo-Nesvetaysky district. They had to work in difficult weather conditions. "In the beginning we had work through heavy wind with its speed up to 25 m/c tearing off the ground sand, and then pouring rain," says Vladimir Tyrnov. "However, despite all the difficulties, our employees completed all the tasks assigned to them in full, quality, and professionalism inherent in Voronezh crews."

Belgorod power engineers had to encounter with difficulties as well: crews of Belgorod and Stary Oskol Electric Grids and Gubkinsky Distribution Zone headed by Deputy Chief Engineer of Belgorod Electric Grids Felix Nikiforovich worked in Aksai district. "When we were working in the field, the wind lifted the earth from arable land in the air so that the grains of sand were flying in the face," he recalls. "The damage was much, but we and our Aksai colleagues had very combative mood. As a result, electricity supply was restored in the shortest possible time."

In total, during the first responding and restoration operations in the Rostov region the mobile crews IDGC of Centre restored 17.5 km of power lines.

"IDGC of Centre’s specialists participated in the elimination of failures in other regions of the country for many times: in the Moscow, Volgograd, Kostroma, Penza regions, in the Krasnodar territory. And whatever the complexity of the problem they had to decide - they did so confidently, clearly and coherently. Today I would like to express gratitude to our employees who have demonstrated professionalism, perseverance and willingness to adequately be on duty not only in the regions of the company’s service area, but also in any part of Russia," stresses Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin.
