Power engineers of IDGC of Centre quickly restored electricity supply in Voronezh

Tonight, June 9, 2014 due to gross violations of navigation in exclusion zones of power lines there was an interruption of high-voltage 110 kV transmission lines # # 23, 24 passing through the reservoir of Voronezh. A yacht with a mast of 10 metres high, passing through the reservoir touched a power line. As a result, Substations # 2 and # 6 of Voronezh were switched off, which provide electricity supply to the Left bank and Right bank of Voronezh, respectively.

Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division were promptly sent to the scene and electricity supply was restored as soon as possible.

As a result of the incident four passengers of the yacht were injured and with mild thermal burns they were hospitalized.

IDGC of Centre conducts systematic work to prevent injury to third persons in the exclusion zones of power lines on swimming facilities, overall dimensions of which exceeding permitted. Condition and dimension of the interrupted power lines were fully compliant with the rules of operation of electrical installations, on the poles, damaged by the yacht, there were appropriate warning signs.
