Power engineers of IDGC of Centre — Bryanskenergo division are restoring power supply interrupted with bad weather

In the night from 15 to 16 March 2014 in the Bryansk region there was a sharp deterioration in weather conditions associated with passing through the territory of the Bryansk region of rain, wet snow with strong gusty winds in excess of 20 metres per second in some places, which led to power outages in settlements of the region. A powerful cyclone, which lasted all night, led to power outages in 10 municipalities.

Repair crews of IDGC of Centre - Bryanskenergo division promptly began liquidating technological disturbances. During the night the work was done quickly to restore the main grid and the most significant power consumers. As of 10 am 16 March 2014, 129 crews of specialists, 141 vehicles, and 366 specialists were involved in the first responding and restoration operations and inspections of overhead lines. In the first place power supply was restored to socially significant facilities, their restoration will be completed by 01 pm hours of the current day.

Additional crews from Distribution Zones of IDGC of Centre — Bryanskenergo division from areas less affected by the disaster were involved for restoration work.

Operating personnel is performing reconstruction work in collaboration with territorial bodies of EMERCOM and local governments. Electricity supply is planned to be fully restored by 06 pm 16 March 2014.
