Power engineers of IDGC of Centre are promptly eliminating the consequences of bad weather conditions in the Kostroma and Yaroslavl regions

On the night of 4 to 5 February 2013 the Kostroma and Yaroslavl regions were hit by a snow cyclone, accompanied by wet snow and gusty winds. This caused build-up of snow on wires, which resulted in partial power outages in some districts of the regions.

After receipt of the first information about the technological violations, power engineers of IDGC of Centre immediately began restoring the power supply. Operational headquarters were convened, which organize and coordinate the course of restoration activities. Cooperation has been set with territorial divisions of FGC UES, territorial offices of Russian Emergencies Ministry, and local district authorities.

As of 8.00 a.m. 82 first responding and repair crews totalling 296 people, 92 special vehicles: snowmobiles, hydraulic lifts, crew vehicles were involved in the emergency and restoration operation.

Social facilities are being connected first. Backup power sources are being used, consumers are being switched over to back-up supply circuits. According to the forecasts the power engineers plan to restore the disturbed by the bad weather power supply by the end of daylight.
