IDGC of Centre establishes the operation mode of increased responsibility to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of the electricity grid in the holidays

3 November 2011

To ensure reliable and uninterrupted operation of the electric grid during the holidays and weekends from the 4th to 6th of November IDGC of Centre introduces the operation mode of increased responsibility. The Company organizes the day-and-night duty of responsible persons, has established a special control over the work of substations and power lines. The equipment has been switched on that was in the scheduled maintenance, thus the normal scheme of electrical networks has been restored.

During holidays in the 11 regions of the service area of the Company there will be more than 280 crews of repair personnel on duty around the clock. In anticipation of the holidays with some sharp cooling and increasing wind emergency repair crews are on high alert.

In preparation for the operation mode of increased responsibility the notification and communication systems have been tested in all branches of the Company, including with fire departments, territorial security authorities, interior, defense and emergency and local governments. To ensure antiterrorist protection of power facilities the Company has increased access control and control over organization of the security activities.

For the holidays the number of operators of the Contact Center has been increased, which will allow more quickly to receive and process information in emergency situations. On all matters of power supply consumers in the regions of IDGC of Centre may call the toll-free phone number of Direct Power Hot Line at 8-800-50-50-115.
