IDGC of Centre will present exposition “Smart city” at the interregional exhibition

5 August 2010

Belgorod was the first in Russia that joined the ranks of “smart cities” of the world. It is not for the first year Interregional Distribution Grid Company of Centre has been implementing power efficient project namely here. In 2010 in the course of working meeting between Evgeny Savchenko, the Governor of Belgorod region, and Evgeny Makarov, the General Director of IDGC of Centre, the list of joint initiatives (programs) on further implementation of innovative project was signed.

New technologies allowing to use power sources rationally, to manage housing maintenance and utilities effectively, to increase quality of servicing of consumers and minimize environmental impact are being applied in “smart city”.

One of the important component of the project are “smart cities” built using up-to-date technologies, capable to upgrade quality and reliability of electric power supply of consumers. New power-saving technologies based on use of reclosers, boosters, teleautomation of substations of 35—110 kv and transformer substations of 10(6)/0,4 kv increase reliability and operating efficiency of distribution grids of 0,4—110 kv, allow to response to emergency situations in on-line mode, and consequently, improve quality of electric power supply of consumers.

“Smart lighting” is the important component of the power-saving conception. Automated system “Gelios” manages outdoor lightning effectively. It allows to control state of grids, to keep records of power consumption and, besides, to manage lightning modes remotely, not moving to facility. 33 “Gelios” cabinets more were installed in the region in 2010. Totally 572 cabinets which supply about 24 thousand light points are being operated within the territory of the region. Applying of “Gelios” system reduces expenses on operation of outdoor lightning grids by 10 %, reduces power consumption volumes by 13—15 %.

Automated measuring and information system for electric power fiscal accounting (AMISEPFA) with intelligent meters “Neyron” keeps records of electric power of household and small engine consumers. This system provides opportunity to manage own power consumption, allows to reduce electric power losses and control its quality. Over 33 thousand “intelligent meters” have been already installed in Belgorod region. 85 thousand devices more will appear in divisions of IDGC of Centre till the end of 2010.

Apart from power-saving technologies visitors may get wise to additional services which the Company renders to residents of the region and get answers to all points of interest.

Single direct free line of power engineers 8-800-50-50-115 operates in all regions day and night. It is possible to share own opinion on work, to point problems needed to be solved, to get answers to questions regarding the Power grid Company activity in Internet-reception on the Company web-site.
