Igor Makovskiy: Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory will provide festive lighting and landscape more than 250 monuments and memorials

Employees of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region on the eve of the memorable date provided power to memorials and monuments under construction and reconstructed for the holiday in 20 regions where the companies operate, and in the places where the fighting took place, they carried out landscaping and tidied the burial places of the Red Army. This year, such work is carried out at more than 250 such facilities.

“In the regions where we work, the outcome of the war was largely decided. We remember and take pride in the unparalleled heroism, courage and dedication of Soviet soldiers who gave their lives in defense of their homeland from enemies. Our company has been patronizing monuments and memorials for many years, regularly helping to update, light and improve them. Thus, we pay tribute and memory to all those who fought for the freedom of the Fatherland, we preserve it for future generations,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.

On the eve of the holiday, specialists of “Rosseti Centre Belgorodenergo” provided lighting of the commemorative alley laid in the village of Livenka and the new monument “Children of War”, which will appear on the Heroes Alley in Valuyki on 9 May. In addition, they performed work on the revision of outdoor lighting networks and the replacement of lamps on the territory of the mass grave of Soviet soldiers who died in battles for the liberation of the Rakityansky district. And in the village of Veidelevka, they checked and repaired outdoor lighting for the memorial complex “Grieving Mother” and the monument “Tank - Joseph Stalin”. In Krasnaya Yaruga, similar events were carried out on the territory of the memorial “Grieving Mother”. In addition, on the eve of the holiday, Belgorodenergo’s employees provided the opportunity to decoratively illuminate the mass grave of Soviet soldiers who died in battles with fascist invaders in 1943 in the village of Staraya Bezginka, and restored lighting for the mass grave in the village of Streletskoye. They also carried out work on the improvement of 16 monuments and graves of heroes of World War II.

Employees of “Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo” completed a set of activities to light four commemorative signs of the “Frontier of Military Valour” in the Volovsky, Terbunsky and Dolgorukovsky districts of the Lipetsk region. Kurskenergo provided decorative lighting for the territory of the Museum-Reserve “Big Oak” in the Zheleznogorsky district, the monuments to the Heroes-Gunners and Heroes-Tankers at the Teplovsky Heights in the Ponyrovsky district and the “Angel of Peace” - the main element of the Memorial Stela near the village of Molotychy in the Fatezhsky district of the Kursk region.

Specialists of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” tidied up monuments in all 27 districts of the Kostroma region and reconstructed the stele installed on the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory in the City Distribution Zone by placing four commemorative plates with the names of 77 Kostroma power engineers who fought on the fronts of WWII. And their colleagues from “Rosseti Centre Bryanskenergo” held a community work day at the monument of the Great Patriotic War - “The mass grave of Soviet soldiers who died during the liberation of Koptilovo from Nazi invaders” in the Karachevsky district.

Employees of the branch “Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Tulaenergo” patronize 10 graves of Soviet soldiers in Tula and five districts of the Tula region. In particular, they improved the burial of soldiers in the village of Renevo in the Kimovsky district, where in the war years the front line passed, and fierce fighting took place. Also, thanks to the help of the power engineers, a monument to the fallen soldiers in the village was prepared for the celebration of Victory Day in the village of Lobanovo of the Efremovsky district, mass graves in the village of Sevryukovo (Tula) and the settlement of Polevoy.

Power engineers of “Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Ryazanenergo” cleaned up the territory of the Alley in memory of the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War in the central park of the city of Skopin. The alley was created on the initiative of the power engineers in 2012, and in honour of the 70th anniversary of the Victory, they solemnly opened a memorial plaque on which the names of thirty Heroes of the Soviet Union and six full cavaliers of the Orders of Glory - natives of these places are immortalized. Udmurtenergo’s workers in the village of Kez put in order a monument to Ivan Yudin, the hero of the Soviet Union who was born here. In a number of districts of the region, power engineers of “Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Kirovenergo” carried out the improvement of monuments to warriors-fellow countrymen.
