18 February 2022

On 18 February, the branch of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC - Udmurtenergo celebrates its birthday. The largest electric grid company of the Udmurt Republic turns 59 in 2022.

The formation of the Regional Electric Office “Udmurtenergo” was preceded by a historic event for Udmurtia - the construction in 1959 of the first 110 kV power transmission line “Izhevsk - Votkinsk” with the step-down substation “Izhevsk” and the 110 kV outdoor switchgear of the Izhevsk CHPP.

Today, Udmurtenergo’s service area includes 221 substations of 35-220 kV; 7,723 transformer substations and distribution points of 6-10/0.4 kV and almost 30 thousand kilometres of power lines of various voltage classes.

One of the strategic tasks for the branch is the consolidation of power grid assets. In 2021, 19 agreements were concluded on the transfer of electric grid facilities under the management of the branch.

To maintain the reliability of power supply to consumers, in 2021 Udmurtenergo’s specialists repaired 4,262 km of power lines, equipment, 563 packaged transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV, and cleared 973 hectares of routes along overhead lines. The production bases of the highly automated Zavyalovsky and Izhevsky Distribution Zones were reconstructed.

During 2021, 6,096 new consumers were connected to Udmurtenergo’s power grids. Projects were implemented to install energy storage systems in two settlements, which will ensure uninterrupted power supply to medical institutions.

Udmurtenergo also carried out maintenance, construction and modernization of outdoor lighting systems in dozens of settlements in Udmurtia. Power engineers implemented an energy service contract to modernize the lighting system in 32 schools.

“The power engineers of Udmurtenergo, as representatives of a key sector of the economy, have important tasks: to ensure reliable and high-quality supply of all consumers in the region, to strengthen interaction with regional and municipal authorities, to expand the direction of additional services so that all projects implemented by the company have a positive impact on social and economic development of the Udmurt Republic. To successfully achieve its goals, the branch has everything it needs: extensive work experience, a modern base and qualified specialists, an invaluable store of practical knowledge and worldly wisdom of our veterans, enthusiasm of the promising youth,” stressed General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC Igor Makovskiy.
