Igor Makovskiy: ensuring the reliability of energy supply to medical institutions is under special control

1 February 2022

Specialists of Rosseti Centre, PJSC - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC since the beginning of the spread of coronavirus infection have taken special control over the work on uninterrupted power supply and connection to the power grid of hospitals repurposed to treat patients with COVID-19.

The work to improve the reliability of power supply to medical institutions is carried out constantly, and the connection of healthcare facilities to the grids takes place as soon as possible and on a priority basis.

So, at the end of 2021, it was decided to provide backup power supply to medical equipment for production of oxygen necessary for treatment of patients with coronavirus in 4 Voronezh hospitals. To this end, Voronezhenergo’s power engineers constructed new 0.4 kV power lines and connected diesel generator sets to each of the hospitals. The total capacity of the installations was 550 kW.

The Belgorodenergo branch completed the construction of external power supply networks and provided an opportunity for grid connection of a new clinical centre for patients with coronavirus, which is being built in the village of Ternovka of the Yakovlevsky urban district. The maximum connected capacity of the facility will be 1,500 kW. The power supply of the medical institution will be carried out according to the first category of reliability from the 110 kV “Severnaya” substation. A similar project is being implemented in Stary Oskol, where the power engineers are completing the construction of external networks.

Employees of Kurskenergo prepared the energy infrastructure and ensured the grid connection of a new infectious disease hospital. They also took part in carrying out internal networks, which accelerated the completion of work. The facility is connected according to the first and second categories of reliability.

“In the shortest possible time, supplying electricity to construction sites, implementing grid connection, laying networks and installing power supplies with an available power reserve for medical facilities is our responsibility and our contribution to stabilizing the epidemiological situation in the regions. Further work to ensure the quality and reliability of power supply to medical institutions is also important, because the uninterrupted operation of the equipment, that is, the health of the people who are there, depends on it,” stressed General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC Igor Makovskiy.
