Igor Makovskiy instructed to strengthen measures to protect equipment and personnel during an abnormal heat

22 June 2021

During the weekly operational meeting, General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Center and Volga Region heard reports on the operation of the power grid complex during a significant increase in temperatures relative to the climatic norm and gave a number of instructions to the engineering department of the companies and the management of the branches. Last weekend, abnormally hot weather was established in a number of settlements in the Central and Volga Federal Districts.

By the decision of the Headquarters of the Companies, unscheduled inspections of electrical equipment, briefings with personnel on the safe performance of work were carried out, special conditions for employees’ activities in the open air were established with additional breaks.

The head of the energy companies paid special attention to strengthening monitoring of the situation on the ground. According to weather forecasters, another peak of temperature records is expected in the coming days.

“The power engineers are taking all necessary measures to ensure the reliable functioning of the power grid complex in the area of operational responsibility. Effective interaction has been established with regional departments of the EMERCOM of Russia and executive authorities of constituent entities and municipalities. In this situation, the risks of forest and man-made fires increase, so it is necessary to take additional measures to protect the equipment,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre — the managing organization of Rosseti Center and Volga Region.
