Governor of the Kostroma Region Sergey Sitnikov and General Director of Rosseti Centre Igor Makovskiy discussed the prospects for the development of the region’s power grid complex

1 February 2021

Today, a working meeting was held at the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” between Governor of the Kostroma Region Sergey Sitnikov and General Director of Rosseti Centre Igor Makovskiy.

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the region was presented with the capabilities of the new digital Grid Control Centre of Kostromaenergo.

The Centre will concentrate the management of the entire main and distribution grid of the region, its dispatchers will online monitor the operation of about 24 thousand kilometres of power lines, analyze the parameters of power quality and current data on voltage at consumers. The Grid Control Centre uses the latest technologies and systems that will significantly increase the level of observability and controllability of power grid facilities, significantly reduce the response time to technological disruptions in the grid.

Governor gave a high assessment to the Centre, noting that its functioning will significantly improve the indicators of the reliability of power supply to consumers in the region.

“Digital technologies increase the level of controllability, significantly reduce the response time to technological disruptions in the grid. The indicator of the reliability of power supply to consumers, both enterprises and residents of the region, is improving. It is most important. Therefore, today it is necessary to study the possibilities of using this platform for managing and organizing the work of ambulance, fire brigades, in the field of forestry, organization of services in emergency situations,” stressed Governor of the Kostroma Region Sergey Sitnikov.

Igor Makovskiy informed Sergey Sitnikov that, despite the difficult epidemiological situation, the power engineers are fully working on preparing the energy complex for winter, grid connection and additional services.

The head of the region thanked the power engineers for the prompt response to requests from the regional leadership to increase the reliability of medical institutions in Kostroma, Galich and Sharya.

General Director of Rosseti Centre also noted that one of the priorities for the Kostromaenergo branch is the modernization of street lighting. Today, out of 24,000 lighting points in the region, 18,000 are already served by Rosseti Centre. The work of the power engineers received a positive response from the population of the Kostroma region: for the first time in decades, the problem with the operation of street lighting fixtures was solved in many settlements.

“In a short period of time, the power engineers have done a lot of work to bring the outdoor lighting networks of the regional centres of the region into proper condition. Currently, the Kostromanergo branch has submitted an application for participation in the trade and procurement procedure for the implementation of work to improve the energy efficiency of street lighting in the regional centre. Expansion of cooperation with the leadership of the region, the administration of Kostroma in this direction will have a positive effect for the city,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.
