Igor Makovskiy: trade unions are our reliable support!

20 October 2020

At the Training and Research Centre of the Moscow Federation of Trade Unions, the III reporting and election conference of the primary trade union organization of IDGC of Centre was held. It summed up the results of the work for the reporting period and outlined goals for the near future.

General Director of Rosseti Centre Igor Makovskiy welcomed delegates to the conference. He noted that the primary trade union organization plays a vital role in the life of the company: it protects interests of employees, participates in creation of healthy and safe working conditions, thereby contributing to the maintenance of stability and increasing the production activity of personnel. Talking about the results of the union’s activities, Igor Makovskiy especially noted the great work done by the management of the company and the organization in terms of improving the Bargaining Agreement, which was previously considered one of the best in the industry.

The union provided great assistance during the coronavirus pandemic. At a high organizational level, part of Rosseti Centre’s employees were transferred to a remote work format. For the personnel who remained at their workplaces, a maximum security regime was ensured, which remains at the present time. In addition, compensation payments were made. A large-scale volunteer movement started. Volunteers appeared in all branches, more than 500 people were involved in the work. Formulating tasks for the near future, Igor Makovskiy noted that the company faces many new challenges associated with the current situation.

“Today we are going through the coronavirus test again. In fact, we are working in a high alert mode. However, this does not relieve us of the need to achieve all the tasks set,” emphasized the head of Rosseti Centre.

According to him, this applies to achieving strategic goals: reducing losses, developing additional services, increasing labour productivity, implementing a digital transformation program, improving and optimizing production, operational and management processes. It is difficult to do this without the support of trade unions.

Then, Chairman of the primary trade union organization of IDGC of Centre, Viktor Ablezgov, spoke. He focused the attention of the delegates on the most important and significant achievements of the reporting period.

Certain positive results have been achieved in solving the main task - providing the Company’s employees with a decent level of social protection and support. Despite the difficulties, the trend of the growth of average wages has been preserved. Social spending on major items is growing. The efforts made it possible to maintain, and during the period of partnership with the current management of the company, improve the social content of the bargaining agreement, and increase the costs of its implementation.

The feedback from the labour team is established and efficiently functions. Viktor Ablezgov emphasized that with the arrival of the current management of the company, meetings with representatives of trade unions became regular.

“Practice has shown that this is a very effective tool that allows to quickly identify, discuss and, most importantly, solve the pressing problems of employees. It is especially important when they want not only to hear you, but also to really support and help you,” he said.

Within the framework of the conference, Viktor Ablezgov was officially retired. He headed the primary trade union organization of IDGC of Centre for 12 years. Igor Makovskiy expressed gratitude to Viktor Ablezgov for his great contribution to the development of the trade union movement of IDGC of Centre, the implementation of the most progressive projects and methods of social partnership and social protection of employees, strengthening the corporate spirit and corporate traditions.

The conference delegates discussed the reports of the trade union committee and the audit commission and elected a new composition of the governing bodies of the Primary Trade Union Organization: a new chairman, trade union committee, and audit commission were elected. Oleg Makarov, who previously headed the trade union organization of the executive office of the company, was elected as Chairman of the primary trade union of IDGC of Centre. The conference participants discussed plans for the near future. It was about expanding trade union cells in the branches while hiring employees of new subsidiaries, who during the year entered the service area of Rosseti Centre. A proposal was made to take into account new formats for organizing the work of personnel in the current epidemiological situation and the latest changes in labour legislation when forming a new sectoral agreement and a bargaining agreement.
