Igor Makovskiy: taking care of the life and health of our employees is our main and constant priority!

General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy held a working meeting with representatives of primary trade union organizations of the Companies in the videoconferencing mode. The main topic of the event was a discussion of the features and organization of the work of the energy companies in connection with the spread of coronavirus infection.

Opening the meeting, Head of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region told the representatives of the trade unions about the measures taken by the companies to prevent and avoid the spread of the new coronavirus among their employees. This work is coordinated by the operational Headquarters of the Companies under the leadership of General Director and the Headquarters established in all branches.

Igor Makovskiy emphasized that already at the initial stage of introducing restrictive measures, the management of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region did everything necessary to protect their employees. Thanks to the implementation of digital transformation, all external business processes were quickly transferred to a remote format. 14.9 thousand of 53.7 thousand employees of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region were transferred to a remote mode of operation while maintaining their wage conditions. The Companies fulfill concerning them all the obligations of the employer as part of an employment contract. Employees are given the opportunity of prompt feedback with the management of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region on all relevant issues through the hot line operating on the basis of the Contact Centre, as well as through specially open communication channels in social networks and instant messengers. Special projects for the preservation of social activity have been developed for them and their families.

Employees directly involved in the process of providing electricity to consumers and continuing to work in the workplace are provided with personal protective equipment. The Companies are implementing the full range of measures necessary to monitor their health. From 13 April, Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region will begin to operate a system of periodic testing of personnel working at grid equipment and not having switched to remote mode for coronavirus infection. This will allow to clearly and quickly act in case of detection of patients in the team.

Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region promptly adopted a number of key decisions on additional measures of social protection for personnel, approved by Pavel Livinskiy, Director General of Rosseti. The priority of employment for open vacancies for family members of the Companies’ employees who lost their jobs due to stagnation caused by the complicated epidemiological situation in certain sectors of the economy has been established. Workers who have had a new coronavirus infection are given priority right to rehabilitation and recovery treatment, including the purchase of medicines. Production staff who remain full-time will receive a cash bonus in April. Separate measures of social protection are provided for employees 65 years and older, industry veterans, employees with children.

“Protecting the life and health of our employees, caring for their social well-being is our main and invariable priority. This is especially true in the current situation. Today we have mobilized all resources to solve this problem. And we continue to make every effort to further improve the quality and effectiveness of this work,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.

The head of the energy companies introduced the trade union representatives to activities of the volunteer movements of the branches. Today they are at the forefront - and the leadership of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region provides them with all the necessary support. In each branch, official volunteer headquarters have been created, which will assist not only the employees of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region and veterans, but also all residents of the regions of the company’s presence who need it. They will be integrated into the system of regional volunteer headquarters as part of the All-Russian action #WeTogether.
