27 March 2020

Transcript of opening remarks by Director General of Rosseti Pavel Livinskiy at a meeting of the headquarters of the electric grid complex on minimizing the risks of the spread of coronavirus infection

Dear colleagues, good afternoon!

The today’s meeting of the Headquarters of the electric grid complex is dedicated to the work of Rosseti’s Group of Companies during the period of the introduction of unprecedented measures in Russia aimed at preventing and containing the spread of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19.

To ensure the stable functioning and development of the electric grid infrastructure, we will have to solve a number of critical tasks in the near future.

The first one. Providing reliable power supply to consumers.

In this situation, it is especially important to pay attention to socially significant and key infrastructure facilities. In this regard, I demand strict observance of the provisions of Order No. 128.

Let me remind you that in accordance with the indicated document, it is immediately necessary to analyze the reliability of power supply circuits and unscheduled inspections of electric grid infrastructure in order to identify and promptly eliminate defects and deficiencies.

It is important to keep power supply to medical institutions, call centres, facilities providing state services, mobile communications and Internet access, as well as computer equipment under special control, to continue paying special attention to organizations providing online services to the population, as well as large transport and logistics centres and courier services.

The second task. Protect all our staff.

Our production staff remains on duty, continues to service line and substation facilities, bring light to homes of citizens and socially significant facilities. We must give them full protection.

I personally ask each general director in the field to monitor the implementation of Order No. 104 on providing personnel with the necessary means of protection, disinfection and prevention, as well as to minimize the contact of our employees both with the outside world and within small production groups.

I also remind that, in accordance with Order No. 113, the possibility of remote work is organized for office employees. I ask you to provide a similar format of work until further notice.

Russian President Vladimir Putin declared the next week non-working. I ask each general director to inform the staff that these days should be spent at home, excluding all optional contacts, and you, as managers, should carefully monitor this.

And the third task.

Production staff is our main asset. We must not only protect them, but also provide a decent reward to our employees for their daily work in these difficult conditions.

In this regard, I instruct the sole executive bodies of the subsidiaries and affiliates of PJSC Rosseti together with Deputy Director General for Human Resources, Relations with Government and Mass Media and Deputy General Director for Economy and Finance of Rosseti to develop and submit to me within a week for approval a list of tangible and intangible measures providing for the encouragement of production personnel who will continue to work these days.

And a few more words about support. I ask you, your deputies and other senior colleagues to organize a system of daily communication with production personnel. Do not find it difficult to call the chief of the Distribution Zone, the foreman, the driver. Ask how they are doing, how they feel, how they are doing in the family. They really need it now.
