More than a billion rubles were spent on ensuring the production safety of their employees at Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region in 2019

3 March 2020

Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region summed up the work on labour protection and ensuring the industrial safety of personnel in 2019. 1,061.8 million rubles were allocated for the implementation of measures to reduce the risk of injury to employees of the energy company during the indicated period.

The bulk of these funds (822.3 million rubles) was used to provide staff with special clothing, personal protective equipment and devices that reduce the risk of injury during work, and also to finance sanitary and hygienic measures to prevent diseases at work.

As part of the monitoring of compliance with safety requirements, during the year, sudden inspections of working crews were carried out in all branches of the company. Based on their results, an improvement in the quality of organization and safe conduct of work, as well as a decrease in the number of gross violations in the course of work, were noted. In addition, within the framework of the monthly Safety Days, the sanitary and hygienic conditions of household premises, the fire condition of buildings and structures, provision with special clothing, footwear and personal protective equipment were checked.

“We consider the provision of safe and comfortable working conditions for our employees and their health care as an important component of the company’s social policy. These issues are priority for us, so we make every effort so that every employee feels secure, confident in the future,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.

Much attention was paid to improving the effectiveness of the monitoring system for the implementation of the necessary standards and regulations, as well as to the development and application of new, even more effective ways to form the necessary skills for employees to safe performance of work. As part of this work, Rosseti Centre and the Rosseti Centre and Volga Region continued to implement the targeted program for the implementation of the Integrated Automated Safety Management System at electric grid facilities. The main objective of the program is to increase the level of industrial discipline of workers and the production culture as a whole.

Last year, the training of specialists of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region under the “Defensive Driving Program” continued in order to develop situational thinking skills, defensive behaviour on the road, improve concentration, recognize dangers and predict actions of other traffic participants. In total, more than one and a half thousand employees of the company received safe driving skills.

Other targeted activities were carried out, in particular - a month’s campaign to prepare for safe performance of mass repairs, a month’s campaign to prepare personnel for safe work in the autumn-winter period of 2019-2020, as well as ten-day campaigns on road safety.
