Rosseti Centre summed up the results of work in 2019 to reduce losses in electric grids. At the end of the year, their level amounted to 10.23%, which is 0.03% lower than the indicators set in the business plan and 0.37% lower than the figures for 2018. The savings amounted to 317 million kWh or 887.6 million rubles.
The achievement of this result was facilitated by Rosseti Centre’s ongoing Program of measures to reduce electricity losses, which includes a set of organizational and technical measures.
The greatest effect is brought by raids to identify non-metered electricity consumption carried out by personnel of Distribution Zones and electricity metering departments of the company’s branches, including in conjunction with specialists from the security unit. Based on the results of this work, in 2019 Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region included electricity stolen by dishonest consumers into the productive supply, totalling 368 million rubles.
Effective technical measures to reduce losses include redistributing loads and shutting down unloaded transformers at substations, installing larger cross-section wires on overloaded power lines, and installing self-supporting insulated wires on lines.
The funds saved by Rosseti Centre as a result of the implementation of the Program of measures to reduce electricity losses are used as an additional source of financing for solving the priority production tasks facing the company.
