A large-scale training on elimination of conditional technological interruptions was conducted by power engineers of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region in the Ivanovo region

On the eve of the New Year holidays, Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region conducted a large-scale training in the Ivanovo region to work out actions of operating and administrative and technical personnel in eliminating consequences of a mass blackout in the city of Ivanovo and the Ivanovsky district.

The training was held under the leadership of First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Alexander Pilyugin, who headed the Power Engineers’ Headquarters.

The training was attended by staff of four branches of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region - Ivenergo, Nizhnovenergo, Vladimirenergo, Kostromaenergo, as well as employees of JSC Ivgorelektroset. The joint forces and means of the Ivenergo branch and JSC Ivgorelectroset were managed by Acting Director of the Ivenergo branch and the head of the grid company Alexey Vasilyev, while liquidating a conditional technological violation.

The purpose of the event is to check the readiness of the personnel, technical facilities and equipment of the companies to eliminate the failure in electric grids and to quickly restore the power supply of social and life support facilities.

According to the conditions to occur, as a result of adverse weather conditions (lowering the air temperature from +3 to -4 degrees with the passage of ice rain with heavy icing) in the Ivanovsky district and in the city of Ivanovo, 18 power lines were disconnected, the power equipment and overhead lines were damaged. Due to the technological violation, about 13 thousand people and 10 social facilities turned out to be without power supply.

In order to quickly respond to the current situation, the Ivenergo branch introduced a special operating mode, organized work of the headquarters to make management decisions to eliminate power outages, provided interaction and information exchange with the executive authorities of the Ivanovo region and the city of Ivanovo, the General Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the constituent entity of the Russian Federation.

To eliminate the causes of the conditional technological interruptions, the Ivenergo, Nizhnovenergo, Kostromaenergo, and Vladimirenergo branches and personnel were sent to help employees of JSC Ivgorelectroset. In total, 9 crews consisting of 43 people and 18 vehicles were involved in the training.

In practice, the emergency response work was carried out involving a group of forces and means from neighbouring regions. In particular, the power engineers of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region carried out the work on replacing power transformers, eliminating mass breaks in wires of power lines and replacing poles.

“Such trainings help improve interaction and information exchange between the divisions of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region and the regional grid companies responsible for the power supply of large cities of our country. Such training allows the staff to consolidate skills and work out effective action algorithms necessary for prompt elimination of consequences of any emergency situations. This is especially important during the New Year and Christmas holidays, when our priority is the unconditional provision of reliable and high-quality energy supply and creating the most comfortable conditions for each resident of 20 regions of our presence,” stressed General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy.
