The power grid of the districts of the Tver region, restored by power engineers of Rosseti after technological damage caused by the hurricane, was again hit by the bad weather. This triggered a second wave of interruptions in power supply to consumers. Specialists of the electric grid company continue round-the-clock emergency recovery work in the region.
On the eve the work to restore energy supply was in the process of completion. The main grid of the branch “Rosseti Centre Tverenergo” operated in a stable mode.
The employees of Rosseti Centre restored the operation of the main power lines and power centres of 110 kV in the Selizharovsky and Ostashkovsky districts, connected the important Pishchalkino-Bezhetsk line, and restored the strategically significant directions of the Vesyegonsky, Lesnoy, Firovsky and Bologovsky districts.
On the night of 30 October, the region was covered by a new atmospheric front in the form of wet snow and a squally gusty wind. The situation was complicated by the transition of the temperature from plus to minus values, which provoked snow sticking to wires.
Monitoring the meteorological situation, the specialists of Rosseti were ready to meet the bad weather. The power engineers, who had been working around the clock for two days before this, immediately started emergency repair work. Rounds and inspections of power lines were made, damaged sections were identified, repairs were started.
Currently, the power supply has been fully restored in the West Dvina, Zharkovsky, Toropetsky, Andreapolsky, Nelidovsky, Oleninsky, Belsky, Konakovsky, Rzhevsky, Zubtsovsky and Staritsky districts.
The snow cyclone caused the greatest damage to the Ostashkovsky, Lesnoy, Firovsky, Vesyegonsky, Vyshnevolotsky, Bologovsky, Spirovsky, Udomelsky, Rameshkovsky and Likhoslavlksy municipalities, which are under special control of the power engineers. At present, the group of forces of PJSC Rosseti is concentrated in these areas.
The Headquarters of the electric grid complex continue to function. To speed up the course of restoration work, the energy company is increasing the grouping of forces and means. In addition to 125 crews of the Tver branch and 93 involved ones, another 21 crews from other regions of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region will be transferred to the region. Also, 10 more crews of Rosseti Moscow Region are involved to the 10 existing ones.
The personnel of the electric grid company operate round-the-clock in difficult weather conditions. Particularly intense emergency recovery activities are taking place in swampy areas, where long overhead lines break down at the moment of transition from thaw to frost, due to high humidity and freezing of precipitation on poles and wires. The power engineers make rounds on special highly passable equipment; unmanned aerial vehicles are sent to these places to identify hard-to-reach damaged sections.
The staff of Tverenergo organized courtyard rounds of the population in order to inform the residents of current information on the progress of emergency recovery work, which is ongoing.
All socially significant facilities are powered, including from backup sources of power supply.
The power engineers plan to energize all large settlements of the Tver region, which fell into the disconnection zone in the next day. Many consumers will receive electricity through backup power schemes. In areas most affected by the second impact of the bad weather, it is possible to have separate sections of the grid with de-energized consumers. The employees of the company will continue to conduct work in the region to restore the electric grid complex and increase its reliability.
The branch “Rosseti Centre Tverenergo” thanks the residents of the Tver region for understanding the difficult emergency situation in the region and asks for patience. We draw attention to the fact that timely contacting the company’s hotline at 8-800-50-50-50-115 will help the power engineers identify de-energized sections of power supply schemes that are not under the direct control of Rosseti Centre, but belong to territorial grid companies and other network owners.
