Governor of the Tver Region Igor Rudenya expressed his gratitude to the power engineers of Rosseti for effective work to eliminate the consequences of the hurricane

28 October 2019

Governor of the Tver Region Igor Rudenya thanked Director General of Rosseti, Pavel Livinskiy, for the efficient work done last night to restore the power supply interrupted as a result of the bad weather, as well as for high professionalism and ability to solve tasks in difficult conditions.

Please, be reminded that from the evening of 27 October, as a result of hurricane events (squalling wind with gusts of up to 25 m/s), technological violations occurred on transmission lines in the Upper Volga Region. A partial blackout occurred in several districts of the Tver region.

Power engineers reacted to the situation immediately and clearly. From 3:00 pm in the branch “Rosseti Centre Tverenergo”, a high-availability mode was in effect, and after recording the deterioration in weather conditions, a special mode of operation was promptly introduced. The meteorological situation was continuously monitored. The operational headquarters coordinating the progress of the restoration work was headed by the head of Rosseti Pavel Livinskiy. The situation was taken under special control of Governor Igor Ruden. 125 crews of Tverenergo took part in eliminating the consequences of the bad weather, and by decision of Pavel Livinskiy, additional forces and means were transferred from other branches to the region consisting of 91 crews as soon as possible to restore the energy supply.

On the morning of 28 October, Governor of the Tver Region Igor Rudenya and the head of the Tver branch of Rosseti Centre Manvel Mazhonts flew over the territories and inspected the progress and results of the restoration work. Manvel Mazhonts reported on the operational situation and the current situation in the service area of the branch: “At the moment, the power supply to the 110 kV power centres of the Vyshnevolotsky, Bezhetsky, Maksatikhinsky, Selizharovsky and Ostashkovsky districts has been restored. The course of reconstruction was complicated by sharp gusts of a hurricane wind, literally knocking down. Despite the difficult weather conditions, the crews worked all night, effectively solving all the tasks assigned to them.”

Igor Rudenya appreciated the high pace of repair and restoration work by the power engineers of Rosseti: “Today, more than 600 specialists of Rosseti’s Group are working on the lines. The connection of the third large substation of “Rosseti FGC UES” is nearing completion. Now we are going around facilities in municipalities where there were power outages. I want to note the high level of interdepartmental interaction between Rosseti, the Ministry of Emergencies and the Regional Government. Everything is under control. By the end of the day, full recovery of 110 kV and above grids is planned. The Government of the Tver Region intends to continue to work constructively with Tver power engineers in the direction of increasing the reliability of power supply to consumers in the region.”

Currently, Rosseti Centre Tverenergo continues to eliminate the consequences of the disaster, restoration work is underway in the 10-0.4 kV grid. For information on the progress of the restoration of power supply, you can call the toll-free direct line of Rosseti Centre at 8-800-50-50-115.
