24 October 2019

General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy made a working trip to the Kostroma region, during which he checked the functioning of the region’s electric grid complex.

The visit of the head of the company began with an inspection of power grid facilities of Krasnoselsky Distribution Zone. In particular, Igor Makovskiy visited one of the most modern energy facilities in the region - the 110-35-10 kV “Krasnoye” substation reconstructed in 2015, supplying more than 15 thousand residents and a number of significant enterprises, including a watch factory, Aquamarine and Platinum jewelry factories, the collective farm “Rodina”.

Igor Makovskiy also checked the infrastructure of City and Kostromsky Distribution Zones. Here, the subject of his special attention was the work on the creation of the city control centre (CCC) on the basis of City Distribution Zone.

This project is being implemented as part of the concept of digital transformation. The CCC will be equipped with digital communication channels and information systems. The new modern facility will operate on unique domestic software. From here, the entire power grid complex of the city of Kostroma and the Kostroma region will be managed online. Some operations will be performed automatically. The implementation of this project will increase the level of observability and controllability of grids, the reliability of their operation, reduce operating costs for dispatch control.

“We will commission the new CCC in 2019 ahead of schedule,” said Igor Makovskiy, the head of the company, assessing the readiness of the facility. “We should aim to carry out the digital transformation in the Kostroma region at a faster pace, in order to quickly set out the region’s electric grid complex on a modern high-tech path, and to ensure a significant increase in the reliability and quality of power supply to consumers.”

Igor Makovskiy held an extended meeting in the executive office of Kostromaenergo with the management of the Kostromaenergo branch and chiefs of Distribution Zones. One of the main issues was the discussion of production programs aimed at ensuring high-quality and reliable power supply to consumers in the Kostroma region, optimizing losses and reducing failures in individual Distribution Zones. The head of the company noted that the electric grid complex of the region has good potential for development. Considering the challenges facing Kostromaenergo, Igor Makovskiy identified digital construction of the grid, improving the manageability of grid infrastructure facilities and the reliability of operating overhead power lines as key priorities.

Summing up the visit, Igor Makovskiy praised the branch’s execution of the instructions issued by him as part of the last visit, and also emphasized the importance of direct communication with the branch’s staff. “Our direct dialogue allows me to evaluate the work of the branch from the inside and correctly prioritize its further development. Kostromaenergo has a number of important tasks, the implementation of which will bring the work of the region’s electric grid complex to a qualitatively new level,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.
