Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region complete preparations for the autumn-winter period with overfulfillment of the plan for the repair program

14 October 2019

Preparations for the heating season at Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga* have entered the final phase. The companies are finishing the implementation of the main activities of the repair program and completing the emergency reserve and continue to improve the system of operational and technical management of electric grid facilities.

The repair program is one of the key preparations for winter for power engineers: the serviceability of power supply equipment is the most important factor for ensuring its trouble-free operation during cold weather, when grid loads increase significantly. The main scope of work of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region has already been completed, with overfulfillment of the annual plan. Specialists of the companies repaired 7,865 thousand switching devices of 6-110 kV (102% of the plan for the year), 74 power transformers of 35-110 kV (106% of the plan of the year); 12,636 thousand transformer substations of 0.4-10 kV (104% of the plan for the year) and 51,631 thousand km of overhead and cable power lines of 0.4-110 kV (102% of the total annual program). In order to prevent failures, 28,948 thousand routes of overhead lines were cleared (102% of the annual plan).

“The high degree of readiness of the personnel and grid facilities of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, the timely conduct of all preparatory measures are the key to reliable power supply to 20 regions of the country during the heating period. The fact that this work is carried out efficiently is evidenced by a stable decrease in the specific failure rate in the grids and the average duration of power outages. We intend to accelerate positive changes in these areas,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.

Implementation of measures to improve the operational and technological management of electric grid infrastructure facilities continues, which allows, in particular, to ensure a more rapid response to technological violations. 978 first responding mobile crews and 168 emergency-recovery crews of increased mobility, formed in branches of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, are ready to eliminate them. The crews of increased mobility are ready at any time to go for emergency response in any region of Russia, they are staffed with highly qualified specialists who have undergone additional training, as well as with all necessary equipment and have specialized vehicles.

Emergency preparedness of operating personnel plays a significant role in ensuring the stable passage of the coming winter. In 2019, in order to develop emergency response skills in structural subdivisions of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, it is planned to conduct more than 13.5 thousand trainings with operating personnel, including more than 20 joint comprehensive exercises with regional departments of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and local governments.

The emergency reserve of the company is now 100% complete. The reserve power supply fleet includes 1,974 mobile and stationary diesel generator sets with a total capacity of 60.48 MW, as well as 4,375 highly passable and specialized vehicles. All equipment has already undergone maintenance and is ready to work during the autumn-winter period.
