19 July 2019

In the Smolensk region, a joint emergency response training of the company “Rosseti” and the state production association “Belenergo” was completed. From the Russian side, specialists from the branch “Rosseti Centre Smolenskenergo” took part in the training, and from the Belarusian side, power engineers of the republican unitary enterprise “Vitebskenergo”.

The purpose of the training is to work out the interaction during the liquidation of possible emergencies in the distribution electric grids in the border areas of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.

Under the conditions, as a result of the impact of hazardous meteorological phenomena (strong wind, precipitation in the form of rain, thunderstorms), there were massive outages of electric grid facilities of the branch “Rosseti Centre Smolenskenergo” in Rudnyansky district of the Smolensk region. Repair crews of the branch “Rosseti Centre Smolenskenergo” and a crew of power engineers of the republican unitary enterprise “Vitebskenergo” were dispatched immediately to the weather-affected district. The Russian and Belarusian power engineers carried out emergency and restoration work with the use of modern equipment, appliances and specialized vehicles. As a result, by joint efforts of the power engineers of Russia and Belarus, they managed to quickly restore the energy supply in the weather-affected district.

“The cooperation of the power engineers of Russia and Belarus is systemic. Joint emergency response exercises provide maximum readiness for any emergency situations in the border areas and allow to increase the efficiency of work to ensure quality and uninterrupted power supply to consumers,” stressed General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy.

Summing up, the organizers noted the skill and experience, as well as the high professionalism and coherence of the work of the Russian and Belarusian power engineers. The Smolensk and Vitebsk regions are border regions and in case of emergency situations on the territory of these regions emergency recovery crews of the electric grid companies of the two states must be ready to promptly eliminate consequences of technological violations.

*- Since June 2019, all companies of the transmission and distribution grid complex in corporate and marketing communications, as well as on all corporate identity carriers have been using the new name containing the Rosseti trademark and regional or functional binding.
