Governor of the Bryansk region Alexander Bogomaz and General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy discussed the implementation of pilot projects for the digital transformation concept

5 July 2019

On 4 July, in the Government of the Bryansk region there was a working meeting held between Governor Alexander Bogomaz and General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy. During the meeting, issues of ensuring reliable power supply to consumers of the Bryansk region were raised, as well as the progress of pilot projects under the concept of digital transformation.

Alexander Bogomaz highly appreciated the activities of power engineers and showed readiness to support the initiatives proposed by the management of Rosseti Centre:

“I want to thank you for the work you are doing. You promptly respond to the elimination of consequences, if they arise. You restore power supply. We have good interaction with Bryanskenergo. I am confident that the common tasks that we face will continue to be productively addressed.

Igor Makovskiy told Governor about the company’s plans to modernize the electric grid infrastructure of the Bryansk region using digital technologies, and also thanked Alexander Bogomaz for his help and productive cooperation:

“The Bryansk region is a strategically significant border region. Therefore, it is completely logical that we chose it for the advanced implementation of pilot projects for the concept of digital transformation. Today, our specialists carry out large-scale work on the development and modernization of the electric grid complex. Their effect can be assessed in the very near future. Thank you for such an attitude to the electric power industry, we value it very much,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.

At present, the company is implementing a number of pilot projects in the region within the framework of the concept of digital transformation of the electric grid complex. The most significant of these are projects to create a digital area of electric grids (“Digital Distribution Zone”) and the Unified Grid Control Centre (EGCC).

The “Digital Distribution Zone” will be created on the basis of the Bryansk district of electric grids (Distribution Zone) of the branch “Rosseti Centre Bryanskenergo”. This will allow automating and improving the reliability of substation control, and reducing the time of interruptions in the power supply of consumers during emergency recovery operations and planned outages. The Unified Grid Control Centre (EGCC) will unite the competences of managing the main and distribution grid of the region. The result of this work will be a significant increase in the observability and controllability of grid facilities.

At the end of the meeting, Igor Makovskiy and Alexander Bogomaz expressed readiness for long-term cooperation in improving the reliability of electricity supply to consumers of the Bryansk region, creating favourable conditions for the socio-economic development of the region, improving the investment climate, creating some comfortable living environment.
