The winner of the VI hockey tournament of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga region is the team of Tverenergo

On 21 February, the VI hockey tournament of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, dedicated to the Defender of the Fatherland Day and organized with the support of the company’s trade union committee, ended in Tver.

For two days, 8 teams fought on the ice arena of the sports complex “Jubilee”: the teams of the Tver, Belgorod, Kursk, Orel, Lipetsk, Kostroma branches of IDGC of Centre, the Kaluga branch of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, and also the team of “Trade Union energo”, which united the hockey players of the executive office of IDGC of Centre and the branch “Yarenergo”. This year the competition was held under the new rules. Participants were divided into two groups according to the results of last year’s hockey tournament, each of which fought for the right to hold a gold or silver cup.

The winner of the tournament in the fight for the gold, the main cup was the team of Tverenergo. The Tver players won all the matches and regained the title of the champion, which last year for the first time in five years lost to the team of Orelenergo. The second and third places were taken by the teams of Kalugaenergo and Belgorodenergo, respectively.

Hockey players from the Kursk branch of IDGC of Centre became the holders of the silver cup. On the second and third places are players from Lipetsk and the team “Trade Union energo”.

According to the results of the tournament, the best players in the nominations were determined. The best goalkeeper in the games of the gold cup is an electrician of the electricity metering and loss optimization department of Belgorodenergo Sergey Goldobin. The title of the best defender was awarded to Alexander Ushakov, a specialist of the capital construction office of Orelenergo. The team’s captain, Deputy General Director - director of the Kaluga branch of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, Alexander Eist, became the best striker. The best scorer was awarded to an electrician of the electricity metering and loss optimization department of Kalininsky Distribution Zone of Tverenergo Maxim Rubtsov.

In the group of the silver cup, an electrician of the electricity metering and loss optimization department of Galichsky Distribution Zone of Kostromaenergo Sergey Isaev was recognized as the best goalkeeper. The title of the best defender was received by an electrician of the electricity metering and loss optimization department from Lipetsk Sergey Popov. Vladislav Dmitriev, a worker of the administrative and household department of Kurskenergo, became the best striker. The title of the top scorer was given to an electric and gas welder of the Yaroslavl section of mechanization and transport of Yarenergo Anton Gartsev (the team “Trade Union energo”!).

At the closing of the hockey tournament, the chairman of the primary trade union organization of IDGC of Centre Victor Ablezgov expressed gratitude to the Tver branch of the company for the excellent organizational preparation of the event and stressed that every year the tournament becomes more vivid and exciting: “We saw a solid team game and hazardous single combat. I wish the participants to continue to improve their sports skills, as well as hope that our tournament will delight us with unforgettable ice fights next year, give us a lot of exciting emotions, and Tver will remain our hockey capital in the future.”

Closing the sixth hockey tournament of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division director Manvel Mazhonts thanked the colleagues from other regions for the beautiful and rich game: “By each game, by every single combat you have demonstrated that you are strong in sports and strong in spirit. Hockey is aspiration, willpower, overcoming, ability to navigate in extreme situations and make lightning-fast decisions - all that which the energy profession requires of us. As part of our teams, hockey players of different ages and different official status play from an electrician to a branch manager. This proves once again that we, the power engineers, work in a tandem, supporting each other, being a single whole and an example of resilience and purposefulness.”

All participants and fans of the tournament remembered the bright hockey festival, the excitement of a real fight in sports arenas and the friendly atmosphere that prevailed at the competitions.
