The opening ceremony of the VI hockey tournament of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region took place in the capital of the Upper Volga region.
The colourful sports festival gathered eight teams of power engineers on the hospitable ice at the ice sports complex “Jubilee”.
The teams of the Tver, Belgorod, Orel, Kursk, Lipetsk and Kostroma branches of the company compete with the team of Kalugaenergo, a branch of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, the team of the executive office of IDGC of Centre and Yarenergo - “Trade Union energo”.
After the opening ceremony, the honorary guest of the sporting event, Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Tver Region Stanislav Petrushenko, said his parting words to the power engineers. He noted the high level of organization of the event and wished his colleagues to play all matches of the tournament without injuries, see gambling fights and get vivid emotions.
Opening the Sixth Hockey Tournament of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, Deputy General Director for Sale and Development of Services of IDGC of Centre, a member of the team “Trade Union energo” Konstantin Petukhov noted that the popularization of physical culture and sports among employees is an important part of the social policy of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region: “IDGC of Centre’s team is honoured to be the winner of the first All-Russian Winter Games of the power engineers of the electric grid complex, which were held in 2013 in Sochi. Two years later, the team of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region achieved the same result at these competitions.
Our company has a lot of its glorious sports traditions, and this hockey tournament serves as a vivid example of this.”
The chairman of the primary trade union organization of IDGC of Centre, Victor Ablezgov, reminded colleagues that the corporate ice hockey tournament constantly expands its geography and congratulated the team of the Tver branch on the 10th anniversary of its founding: “The teams of the first tournament were three branches, and this year there are already eight of them. Representatives of other ROSSETI’s subsidiaries also show interest in our competitions. Among its participants there were teams of MOESK and a branch of IDGC of North-West - Karelenergo. Tver, probably, can be called the hockey capital of our company. This year the hockey team of Tverenergo celebrates its tenth anniversary - I congratulate my colleagues on the significant date. Representatives of the Tver branch became the champion of the first four tournaments. And it was Tver who in 2017 hosted the first hockey championship of “ROSSETI”, in which, by the way, our team has no equal. Our matches attract more and more spectators, they become more interesting, more spectacular. I am sure it will be like this again. I wish all the participants of the tournament success, and the spectators to see beautiful, exciting hockey!” stressed Victor Ablezgov.
In continuation of the good tradition of the company, the veterans of the energy sector - employees of Tverenergo, who devoted many years to dedicated work for the benefit of the Tver energy system, became honorary guests of the tournament.
Currently, at the Tver ice sports complex “Jubilee” play-off matches are in the full swing. The brightest games are waiting for their fans tomorrow - on the final day of the hockey tournament.
