Power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region mobilized due to heavy snowfall

On 13 February, weather conditions worsened in a number of subjects of the Central and Volga Federal Districts: precipitation (rain, sleet), sleet sticking, icing, wind of 15–20 m/s are recorded here. Natural anomalies also affected the regions of responsibility of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region (included in ROSSETI’s Group of Companies). Currently, both companies are working in the mode of maximum mobilization and are ready to eliminate consequences of possible technological violations.

In the branch of IDGC of Centre - Bryanskenergo, due to the deterioration of weather conditions, a special mode of operation has been introduced, providing for mobilization of forces and means to restore power supply to consumers. The branches of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region - Ryazanenergo and Kalugaenergo, in whose service area ​​bad weather is expected in the near future, a high alert mode has been introduced. Special control over operation of power facilities has been set. Information exchange with territorial divisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and executive authorities has been organized. First responding and maintenance personnel has been mobilized. All crews are equipped with necessary tools, devices, clothing, provided with off-road specialized vehicles, prepared to work around the clock in all conditions.

If necessary, the high alert mode will be promptly introduced in other branches of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region. Currently, in case of worsening weather, a set of preventive measures is being implemented here. Continuous monitoring of meteorological conditions is carried out, control over electric grid infrastructure facilities has been strengthened, and clear information interaction with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, regional and local authorities has been ensured.

A list of mobile crews of branches of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region and their composition was formed, which are ready, if necessary, to move forward quickly to assist in carrying out emergency recovery work outside their operational responsibility areas. In total, 2,903 crews consisting of more than 12,760 people, 4,331 automotive and specialized vehicles, as well as resources of contracting organizations can be involved in the elimination of technological violations in all branches of the energy companies. They have at their disposal about 1,913 backup power supply sources with a total installed capacity of about 57.68 MW, which can be used to temporarily supply power.
