The head of IDGC of Centre assessed the prospects of preparing the power grid for development of the pilgrim-tourist cluster “Arzamas-Diveevo-Sarov”

1 February 2019

General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region (part of ROSSETI’s Group of Companies) Igor Makovskiy paid a working visit to Diveevsky Distribution Zone of the branch “Nizhnovenergo”. In the future, the village of Diveevo should become part of the pilgrim-tourist cluster “Arzamas-Diveevo-Sarov”.

According to the cluster development concept, it will include the cities of Sarov and Arzamas, as well as the village of Diveevo with a total population of more than 200,000 people. Within the framework of the concept, Diveevo is regarded as a central place of pilgrimage, since the Holy Trinity Seraphim-Diveevsky monastery is located there, which is revered by Orthodox Christians as the fourth adobe of the Most Holy Mother of God.

According to official estimates, the attendance of the pilgrim-tourist cluster “Arzamas - Diveevo - Sarov” has increased by about 65,000 people since 2015, reaching 390,000 tourists by 2018. With the full implementation of the cluster development concept, this figure should increase to 2,000,000 people.

The timely reconstruction of the power grid complex is an indispensable condition for the development of the pilgrim-tourist area in the south of the Nizhny Novgorod region. For the implementation of this project, the energy company until 2025 intends to carry out the reconstruction of the substations (SS) “Diveevo” and “Elizarievo”. At the substation “Diveevo”, it is planned to replace a 10 MVA transformer with a 16 MVA transformer, a 10 kV switchgear unit with an increase in the number of outgoing power lines from 13 to 18. In the distribution grid, it is planned to construct 7.53 km of overhead and cable power lines with installation of three package transformer substations of 10/0.4 kV, as well as installation of nine reclosers and reconstruction of 177.9 km of existing power lines.

The result of the work performed will be improving the controllability and reliability of the electric grid complex of Arzamassky and Diveevsky districts, improving the quality of electricity supply to the population and numerous guests of the pilgrimage and tourist cluster.

Please, be also reminded that in 2019 Nizhnovenergo implements a “pilot” project “Digital Distribution Zone” based on the Arzamas rural power grid district, as part of the concept of digital transformation of the power grid complex until 2030, approved by the Board of Directors of PJSC ROSSETI. The power engineers expect that with the start of the operation of the digital Distribution Zone, the operational costs of operating the power grids and the load on the staff will decrease, the working conditions of the employees will become safer, and in case of possible technological violations, the time for fault location will be reduced. Digitalization of the grid will also allow the use of automatic algorithms for restoring the power supply system, reducing the time of possible outages of consumers and their number.
