IDGC of Centre commissioned 3.6 thousand kilometres of power lines and over 360 MVA of capacity in 2018

30 January 2019

IDGC of Centre summed up the implementation of the 2018 investment program. According to operational data, during this period, the company put into operation more than 360 MVA of capacity, and 3.6 thousand km of power lines.

The amount of funding for the program was 14.4 billion rubles. 9.3 billion rubles were allocated for technical re-equipment and reconstruction, 5.1 billion rubles for construction of new and expansion of existing facilities. In particular, 3.5 billion rubles were allocated for implementation of digital transformation projects of the company’s electric grid complex.

Many of the constructed and reconstructed power facilities are important for the socio-economic development of the regions where IDGC of Centre operates. So, specialists of the Belgorod branch of the company completed a comprehensive reconstruction of the 110/10 kV substation (SS) “Sheino”, which supplies 13 settlements of Korochansky district, industrial and agricultural enterprises. In addition to improving the reliability of electricity supply to existing consumers, the reconstruction of the substation “Sheino” was connected with the need to connect two new dairy farms of the company “Seversky Donets” to the company’s grid, which are part of the large regional agricultural holding “Green Valley”, with a total consumption of 2.4. MW.

In Valuisky district of the Belgorod region, IDGC of Centre constructed and put into operation the high-tech 110/10 kV substation “Vatutinskaya”. The new power supply centre with an installed capacity of 12.6 MW is intended for power supply of industrial and household consumers of Valuisky urban district and is designed taking into account the use of modern automated dispatch control systems, control and metering of electricity. By equipment, it is one of the most modern in the region. Operational control of the substation is carried out remotely from Belgorodenergo’s Grid Control Centre, without involvement of additional personnel. This can significantly reduce the time of switching, equipment disconnection for repair and emergency response elimination.

Power engineers of Smolenskenergo reconstructed the 110/35/10 kV substation “Vyazma-1”, located in Vyazemsky district, last year. The power facility, included in the Program for the Development of the Power Industry of the Smolensk Region for 2017-2021, provides electricity to consumers in the eastern part of the region, including large industrial enterprises. As a result of the reconstruction, its capacity increased to 126 MVA.

In addition, in 2018, IDGC of Centre’s specialists installed new overhead lines in the Tambov and Kursk regions as part of the grid connection of large agricultural facilities. The branch “Tambovenergo” to ensure the delivery of 7.4 MW of capacity to sites of the pig-breeding complex of “Tambov Bacon” in Zherdevsky, Sampursky and Znamensky districts built three double-circuit power lines of 35 kV with a total length of 55 km. And power engineers of the Kursk branch of the company for the grid connection of an industrial site of LLC “Agroprokomlektatsiya - Kursk” in Zheleznogorsky district implemented an investment project for the construction of a 14-kilometre tap of the overhead line “Troitskaya-Voropaevo”.

During the implementation of investment projects, IDGC of Centre’s specialists used the most modern and innovative equipment. Thus, the power engineers of IDGC of Centre reconstructed 1 km of the 110 kV overhead line “Donskaya” in the Lipetsk region, which supplies electricity to Zadonsky district, using the ultra-light cable “Monte Carlo”. A special polymer alloy replaces a traditional steel core in the innovative cable. This makes the cable three times lighter and doubles its transmission capacity. This is especially true given the fact that the overhead line passes through the Don River in the Galichya Gora nature reserve, where large-scale work is prohibited by law.

The implementation of the investment program of IDGC of Centre allows improving the quality and reliability of electricity supply to consumers in 11 regions of the Central Federal District and contributes significantly to the socio-economic development of these regions.
