27 December 2018

General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy made a working visit to the Kursk region, during which he checked the operation of the power grid complex and production units of the branch “Kurskenergo”.

The facilities that the head of the company visited were the 110 kV substation “Besedino” and Central Distribution Zone. The substation “Besedino” is an important node power facility for Besedinsky district, since it provides reliable power supply to consumers in the residential sector and social facilities. Central Distribution Zone of Kurskenergo provides electricity to consumers in part of the city of Kursk and adjacent districts of the region with a population of 440 thousand people.

During his working trip, Igor Makovskiy also visited the unfinished construction project “Administrative Building of Kursky Distribution Zone”. After inspecting the building, the head of the company gave a number of instructions on preparation of the premises for operation and their redevelopment to house the Unified Grid Control Centre.

In the executive office of Kurskenergo, the head of the company familiarized himself with the work of the Customer Service Centre and the Grid Control Centre of Kurskenergo, from which the operational management of the regional grid complex is carried out. The Grid Control Centre of Kurskenergo is an intellectual centre that combines advanced technologies into a process control system for the distribution grid complex. This allows operating personnel to continuously monitor and analyze current and planned grid operation modes, monitor the operation of all distribution grid facilities on-line, prevent occurrence of possible technological violations, and in the event of emergency situations, locate and eliminate them as soon as possible.

One of the key tasks for the near future for the company is the fulfillment of the task set by the country’s leadership on digital transformation of the electric grid complex, the company’s General Director stressed at a meeting with managers of Kurskenergo. Large-scale work is planned in the Kursk region. In particular, from 2019 to 2021, the implementation of the “digital substation” technology is planned on the site of the 110/10 kV substation “High” and “digital Distribution Zone” on the basis of Kursky Distribution Zone. “All projects implemented by the company in the regions of presence are aimed at improving the controllability of power grid facilities, reducing electric power losses and, as a result, significantly improving the reliability and quality of power supply to consumers,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.

At the end of the visit to the region, the head of the company met with the Council of Veterans of Kurskenergo, during which he expressed gratitude and appreciation to the veterans who, through their dedicated work, created the distribution grid complex in the Kursk region. “We still use the legacy you left us, and it’s very important that the veterans continue to be involved in the processes that take place in the company and take an active part in them,” stressed the head of the company.
