25 December 2018

On 25 December, Voronezh hosted a working meeting of Governor of the Voronezh Region Alexander Gusev and General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy. The head of the region and the head of the company discussed topical issues of operation of the regional power grid complex.

In particular, they talked about the prospects of large-scale implementation of digital technologies into it, as well as consolidation of all facilities of the regional grid complex under a single management. Following the meeting, Alexander Gusev and Igor Makovskiy signed an agreement on cooperation between the Government of the Voronezh Region and IDGC of Centre in the development of the electric grid complex. The document is aimed at creating favourable investment climate in the region and determines the order of interaction between the parties in terms of creating conditions for modernization of electric grid infrastructure using digitalization technologies, based on long-term tariff regulation.

Commenting on the signed agreement, Alexander Gusev noted that thanks to its implementation, investments in the regional electric grid complex would almost double. “This will allow us, in particular, to solve the problem of energy shortages in a number of territories, making them attractive to investors. And also to lay the foundation for creating single centres of responsibility in the grid management system,” said Governor of the Voronezh Region.

Igor Makovskiy, in turn, pointed out that the implementation of the agreement will allow IDGC of Centre to ensure sufficient funding for the investment program of the branch “Voronezhenergo” for the long term. “The Voronezh region is the largest region of the Black Soil Region. By investing in the modernization of its power grid infrastructure, we not only provide reliable and high-quality power supply to consumers, but also provide conditions to ensure its economic growth and social stability,” the head of IDGC of Centre emphasized.
