In the head office of Tverenergo, a solemn ceremony was held to close the exercises on organizing interaction and elimination mass violations at power grid facilities of the Tver region. The event was attended by Governor of the Tver Region Igor Rudenya and General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy. The head of the region and the head of the company via video conferencing reported on the results of the exercises to Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak and Director General of ROSSETI’s Group of Companies Pavel Livinskiy.

The videoconference was opened by Pavel Livinskiy with a report on the exercises that were held nationwide. “In total, over 23 thousand people and more than 3,500 units of equipment were involved in the exercises in 30 regions. In addition to practicing the skills one of our main tasks was to work out the experience of working on a territory different from places of permanent home of the crews,” said the head of ROSSETI.

The next speaker - General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy noted that the exercises of power engineers from ROSSETI’s Group of Companies in the Tver region were completed in full. “All assigned tasks have been completed. As a result of the exercises, 1 million 200 thousand residents of the Tver region receive high-quality energy supply. The power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region are ready for unconditional provision of reliable power supply to consumers,” the head of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region emphasized.

“For residents of the Tver region, the exercises of power engineers are an unprecedented event, which gives confidence that the quality and reliability of electricity supply will be provided at the proper level. We expect to increase the stability of energy supply and reduce the failure rate by 50%. For us, this is a significant contribution to the development of the regional economy,” commented Governor of the Tver Region Igor Rudenya on the results of the exercises.

After listening to the reports, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, declaring the exercises of PJSC ROSSETI closed, thanked the participants for their large-scale and high-quality work. “The Russian grid complex is one of the largest and one of the most complicated in the world. It operates on a vast territory, in various climatic conditions. During the exercises, a tremendous amount of work was done on repairing lines and substations and clearing ROWs. This will make it possible to largely solve the problems that have accumulated in the regions,” Minister of Energy noted. According to him, the exercises have become another important step towards the implementation of the decisions of the country’s leadership in the implementation of large-scale tasks for the development and modernization of the electric grid complex, the implementation of modern smart solutions and technologies.

The Tver region became the second Russian region after Dagestan, where the power engineering exercises of unprecedented scale took place. 784 crews of 10,785 people and 1,169 units of equipment from 20 branches of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region were involved in them. For three months, the companies’ specialists cleared 12.7 thousand hectares and expanded 1.1 hectares of ROWs, replaced 549 kilometres of bare uninsulated wires with stronger, self-supporting insulated ones. Also, 12 thousand overhead line poles were replaced, and 327 transformer substations were repaired. Emergency defects on 22,356 km of power lines were removed.

For a number of indicators, the volume of assignments issued at the start of the exercises were almost exceeded twice. An important component of the exercises was the preparation of the electric grid complex of the Tver region for large-scale digitalization. In parallel with the main part of the exercises, the work patterns of the facilities were detailed, the data were updated for creating a new control system using the most modern digital technologies. In total, this work covered 30 thousand facilities.
