Power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region are on high alert for work on holidays and weekends

Specialists of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, on the eve of the Day of National Unity, strengthened control over the operation of electric grid facilities in the regions of their operations (20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation).

The power engineers checked the technical condition of equipment and emergency control automation, the presence of an emergency stock of materials, and the availability for operation of backup power supply sources. Fire safety and counter-terrorism security has been enhanced at power facilities. A clear scheme of notification and calling operating and maintenance personnel has been developed. Efficient interaction with law enforcement agencies, unified duty dispatch services, the EMERCOM and territorial grid companies has been established.

For the entire period of holidays and weekends, IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region will set up round-the-clock duty of responsible managers of the executive office, branches and production departments of the company, specialists of dispatching and technical services, duty staff at substations, as well as first responding and repair crews equipped with all necessary tools and specialized vehicles. To prevent disconnections of customers during this period, the most reliable power supply scheme will be maintained. All types of work on existing equipment of grid facilities will be suspended.

If necessary, the elimination of technological violations in all branches of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region may involve 2,817 emergency and recovery and first responding mobile crews consisting of more than 14 thousand people and more than 5 thousand automotive and specialized vehicles, as well as forces and means of contracting organizations. Also, at the disposal of the power engineers there are about one and a half thousand reserve sources of power supply with a total installed capacity of about 49 MW, which can be used for temporary power supply, primarily to socially important regional facilities.
