The interregional online contest among children and adolescents on knowledge of electrical safety rules is held in the regions of operational responsibility of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region. More than 700 children and teachers from dozens of educational institutions joined the contest for less than a month.
Most of the contestants are traditionally registered in the “Erudition” nomination, where it is necessary to solve a crossword puzzle and compose a code phrase from letters of guessed words, a quarter of all the participants sent in creative works: poems, puzzles, riddles, drawings, etc. According to the terms of the contest, the best of them will be published in the new collection of the series “Notebook of electricity knowledge”, issued by the energy company in collaboration with young participants of the online contest. Publications are distributed during electrical safety events in schools and kindergartens, as well as donated to collections of regional libraries.
The contest started on 1 October 2018, and, at the request of parents and teachers of participants in previous contests, will last until 1 March 2019, which will allow to attract more children and adolescents to participate in the “Erudition” and “Creativity” nominations, as well prepare and implement authors’ events on electrical safety with students in the framework of the nomination “Class electricity patrol”. At the same time, each participant from 5 to 18 years old can still apply at once in 3 nominations, claiming 3 prizes simultaneously. Teachers who get interested in participating in the contest the largest number of their students will be awarded in the nomination “Teacher”. Detailed information about the contest:

The interregional online contest is part of the program for prevention of third-party electrical injury, which is implemented annually in the service area of the power companies and, apart from informational work (thematic lessons, social advertising, etc.), includes technical measures: removal of power lines from premises of educational institutions, daily inspection of power facilities for integrity of fences and locking devices, checking for warning signs and posters on power grid facilities. Power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region are convinced: an integrated approach to the prevention of electrical injury allows to increase the effectiveness of work in this area by several times.
