In the summer months IDGC of Centre continues to conduct large-scale systematic work in the regions of its activities (11 subjects of the Central Federal District) on prevention of children’s electric injuries.
One of its most important components are lessons of electrical safety, which the power company conducts during holidays in kindergartens, school and children’s health camps. Specialists of IDGC of Centre’s branches tell children about the role of electricity in human life and why it is important to follow the rules of safe handling. In addition, they introduce them to the rules for use of electrical appliances, explain the importance of warning signs installed on electrical equipment, show methods of providing first aid to the victim with the impact of electric current. To consolidate new knowledge, the participants of the lessons are shown thematic videos and cartoons.
During the first month of summer, the power company conducted about 200 classes on electrical safety, they were attended by more than 6,000 schoolchildren. The largest number of thematic lessons was organized by the branches "Belgorodenergo" and "Orelenergo" - 30 and 26, respectively, with a total of more than 1,700 children. In the Orel branch of the company participants in classes were introduced to the electrical safety rules by "artificial intelligence" - the robot Valli, who was assembled by an engineer of the department for operation of automated dispatch control systems Alexander Panfilov himself.
A number of branches timed special events on the topic of electrical safety to the Children’s Day. So, on 1 June, employees of Belgorodenergo conducted a "fun" cognitive activity with jugglers, games and animators for pupils of the Regional Social and Rehabilitation Centre for Children with Disabilities. And employees of Lipetskenergo organized on 2 June in the Victory Park of Lipetsk the holiday "Electricity-Your Friend" with contests, relay races and charades.
Specialists of the safety service of Yarenergo within the citywide educational game-quest "Operation "Security" and other summer adventures", held in June in the Victory Park in Yaroslavl, conducted an interactive lesson for primary school pupils. In the course of it, the children not only received useful knowledge, but also were able to try on the equipment of power engineers, to hold in their hands working tools. In addition, they took part in the relay race, during which the "Gosha" dummy simulator was resuscitated at speed.
Often IDGC of Centre’s power engineers conduct thematic events in cooperation with representatives of regional authorities and law enforcement agencies. Yarenergo within the framework of the "Territory of Security" campaign, together with the regional offices of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate and other structures, organizes occupational safety classes in children’s out-of-town camps. In the Bryansk and Tver regions, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are partners of local branches of IDGC of Centre for the organization of similar events, which are called "Days of Safety". And employees of Kostromaenergo for several years together with representatives of the regional offices of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of Russia, the department of the Federal National Guard Troops Service in the Kostroma region and the All-Russian Voluntary Fire Society conducted route safety games for campers. 12 such events took place in June, they were attended by about 1,200 children.
Until the end of summer, the power engineers of IDGC of Centre’s branches plan to conduct another 300 events to teach electrical safety for children and adolescents. Over ten and a half thousand schoolchildren will participate in them.
