Interregional competitions of professional skills of power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region started

On 1 July, professional skills competitions for repair and maintenance of 110 kV power lines of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region started at the training centre of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region - Marienergo.

During the week, 80 best specialists, consisting of 20 teams representing all branches of the companies, will take part in competitive tests in seven stages. All competitive tasks are based on elements of daily activities of power engineers to ensure reliable and uninterrupted operation of grids. During the competitions, the participants will, for example, replace a defective insulator on a 110 kV overhead line, perform connection of an anchor loop on the 110 kV overhead line, measure ground resistance of the 110 kV overhead line, and also extinguish fire in the guard zone of the 110 kV overhead line.

In his welcome speech at the opening ceremony, Alexander Pilyugin, First Deputy General Director and Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre, the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, noted that these competitions are unique because they collected specialists from the companies, in the service area of which there are a total of 20 regions of the Central and Volga federal districts of the Russian Federation - this is almost a third of the whole of Russia.

"A well-established practice of professional support exists between IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region. If necessary, representatives of different power systems work together to ensure reliable power supply to consumers in twenty regions. The competitions allow not only to confirm professional skills, but also to strengthen interaction, enrich experience to solve all tasks facing us even more successfully. It’s nice to note that the branches sent to the competitions professionally trained teams, ready to show high results," Alexander Pilyugin stressed.

Dmitry Fedorov, Deputy General Director and Director of the Marienergo branch of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, who also addressed the participating teams, noted that such a large-scale event will allow the specialists to exchange the best experience and adopt new practices and new technologies used in other regions. At the same time, Dmitry Fedorov stressed that Marienergo will do everything in its power to ensure holding the competitions at a high level.

After passing through all stages of the competitions, leaders will be identified, who will represent the power grids of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region at the All-Russian competitions of subsidiaries of PJSC Rosseti.
