A joint training of operating personnel of the enterprise and the EMERCOM of Russia in the Tambov region was held at IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division, based on the 110 kV substation (SS) "Tambovskaya No. 8". The power engineers and representatives of the rescue department worked out cooperation in the event of fire extinguishing at the power facility.
According to the training scenario, due to the destruction of the 110 kV input on one of the transformers of the substation, the oil was released and got burned. The electrician on duty immediately reported the situation to the dispatcher of the operational and technological service of Tambovenergo’s Grid Control Centre, after which he contacted the operational service of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Tambov region and called the fire department. At the same time, the power engineers on the operational fire-fighting instruction card removed the transformer out for repairs and took steps to prevent the spread of fire. A fire crew "2 OFPS for the Tambov region" that arrived at the substation in a few minutes extinguished the fire.
The equipment of the substation all this time continued to work according to the normal scheme. Efficiency and clear and coordinated actions of the personnel of the operating staff of the Tambov branch of IDGC of Centre and the EMERCOM of Russia allowed to prevent the development of the emergency situation and prevent the violation of electricity supply to consumers.
The organizers of the training highly appreciated the level of training of its participants. "The results of the training confirmed the high degree of readiness of its participants for joint actions to ensure reliable electricity supply to consumers. Similar activities are equally necessary for both power engineers and firefighters. They must be able to act quickly and accurately in the event of a fire in the substation, so as not to leave residents and enterprises in the region without electricity," stressed Igor Polyakov, First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division.
