In Cherepovets yesterday the second hockey tournament of subsidiaries of PJSC "Rosseti" ended. Seven teams of power engineers from different parts of the country took part in it: IDGC of Centre, MOESK, IDGC of Urals, IDGC of Siberia, IDGC of North-West, Tyumenenergo, IDGC of Centre and Volga Region. At the first stage they played in groups, the winners of which determined the champion in the final match of the tournament.
The team of IDGC of Centre, the core of which was representatives of the Orelenergo branch, reinforced by colleagues from the Belgorod branch, reached the final confidently, having scored two major victories over hockey players of IDGC of Urals and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region - 7:1 and 6:1. And no less convincing was the advantage of the power engineers of the Centre of Russia in the final match against the team of the 1st place in Group B, having finished 6:0 in their favour, they became the winners of the tournament.
In the collection of IDGC of Centre’s team following the results of the competitions there was another trophy. The best striker was an electrician for operation of electricity meters of the 3rd category of Belgorodsky Distribution Zone of the Belgorodenergo branch Alexey Filippov. During the tournament, Alexey scored in the opponent’s goal 7 pucks and gave 8 assists. "The level of the game is quite high," he said. "All the guys are skilled, but we had an extra trump card - speed. Every game can be called tense, but we were focused on the result, we were eager for it - and eventually won."
This is the second consecutive success of IDGC of Centre’s team in the ice hockey tournament of SDCs of "Rosseti". Please, be reminded that it won the first competitions, held in April last year in Tver.
"The victory of IDGC of Centre’s team in this tournament is very symbolic. Despite the fact that it was played by hockey players from different branches, no one in it was superfluous. This once again proves that we, the power engineers of the Centre of Russia, work as a whole, being an example of perseverance and purposefulness for the younger generation, and pride for the elderly," stressed the team captain, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Orelenergo division director Yury Volchenkov.
