IDGC of Centre in the first quarter saved more than 8.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity

23 May 2018

IDGC of Centre summed up the implementation of the Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency Program for the first quarter of 2018. The total effect from its implementation was more than 8.5 million kWh.

Almost half of the total savings, 4.7 million kWh, was due to the implementation of technical activities of the program by power engineers: replacement of wires on overloaded power lines for a larger cross-section and replacement of wires of overhead lines to residential houses with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW).

A significant effect - 3.8 million kWh - was received from organizational activities of the Program, including switching off transformers in low load conditions in substations with two or more transformers, switching off transformers with seasonal load, and also equalizing phase loads in distribution networks of 0.38 kV. Measures to optimize the consumption of energy resources for utility needs brought the total savings of 46 tons of standard fuel.

In the second quarter, IDGC of Centre started implementing measures to modernize the lighting of utility facilities and 35-110 kV substations in accordance with Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation of September 27, 2016 No. 971 "On amending the rules for establishing requirements for programs in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency improvement of organizations that carry out regulated types of activities". Until the end of the year the company plans to make a complete replacement of traditional lighting devices for LEDs, increasing the share of the latter by 2.5 times (from 12% to at least 30% of the total). In total, it is planned to replace about 29 thousand outdoor and indoor lighting fixtures.

The total expected effect from the implementation of energy-saving measures in IDGC of Centre for 2018, according to the plan, should reach 33.2 million kWh, the effect of optimization of energy consumption for household needs will amount to 100 tons of standard fuel.
