"Rosseti" in the autumn-winter period of 2017/2018 reduced the specific failure rate by 9%, and emergency restoration work by 19%

27 April 2018

Director General of the company "Rosseti" Pavel Livinsky during the speech at the All-Russian conference "On the results of the operation of subjects of the electric power industry in the autumn-winter period of 2017 - 2018" noted that thanks to new approaches to the preparation and management of energy facilities of the grid infrastructure during peak loads, despite the growth of the number of hazardous meteorological phenomena, it was possible to qualitatively improve the reliability of electricity supply.

The specific failure rate in the autumn-winter period of 2017/2018 decreased by 9% compared with the previous period, the average duration of power interruptions at technological violations was reduced by 19%, and the average time to restore power was 2.8 hours against 3.5 hours a year earlier.

Pavel Livinsky stressed that the number of dangerous weather conditions increased by 38% in the completed autumn-winter period. Nevertheless, in none of the subjects of the federation, including the regions of the Central Federal District, which only this year were hit by the "snowfall of the century" and the strongest in the history of meteorological observations hurricane, the power engineers of the Rosseti group did not have any serious negative consequences for consumers, and the power supply disturbed by bad weather was restored in the shortest possible time.

"All the measures implemented by experts of Rosseti allowed the power grid complex to solve the key task of providing reliable and high-quality power supply to consumers in all regions of presence without regard for external factors," stressed Pavel Livinsky.

In his report, the head of the power grid holding company also focused on the plans for the preparation of the Rosseti group for the next autumn-winter period, which include additional exercises and trainings for working out practical skills of production personnel, including involving regional offices of the EMERCOM and other services and departments.

Pavel Livinsky also said that the amount of financing for the repair program in 2018 will be about 64 billion rubles, which is 5% more than last year’s budget. The Rosseti group plans to repair more than 178,000 km of overhead and cable power lines, clear more than 135,000 hectares of ROWs along overhead lines from wood and shrub vegetation, and overhaul 37,000 transformer substations.
