IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region to host the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren "Rosseti" for the first time

On 31 March and 1 April 2018, high school students from 250 schools located in 20 regions of the service area of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region will take part in the first stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren "Rosseti".

The first stage will be attended by high school students from 167 schools of the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kostroma, Kursk, Lipetsk, Orel, Smolensk, Tambov, Tver and Yaroslavl regions (IDGC of Centre), as well as students from 87 schools from the Vladimir, Ivanovo, Kaluga, Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod, Ryazan, Tula regions, the Republics of Mari El and Udmurtia (the service area of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region).

The Rosseti grid companies conduct the Olympics for schoolchildren to identify and develop talented schoolchildren who are capable of technical creativity and innovative thinking, planning their professional activities in the electric power industry, and involving them in the development of advanced infrastructure and technology projects relevant to the power grid complex of the Russian Federation.

The Olympics will be held annually in two compulsory stages: the qualifying round in the subjects "physics", "mathematics", "computer science" and the final one, aimed at testing the ability to apply the available knowledge of the subjects in the course of solving applied problems in the electric power industry.

At the moment, 15 universities and technical schools in 20 regions of the Centre and Volga region of Russia have confirmed their participation in the Olympiad, as well as participation of their representatives in the jury of the contest and appeal commissions.

Winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad in each region will be revealed after its second and final stage, which will be held on 21 April 2018.

The ceremony of awarding winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Olympiad "Rosseti" will be held in Moscow, after which the laureates will travel to Sochi to participate in the energy project shift, conducted by PJSC Rosseti together with the educational centre "Sirius".
