The Belgorod branch of IDGC of Centre provided an additional capacity to a plant for production of vital medicines

22 February 2018

IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division provided an additional capacity of 500 kW to a new production line of the "Veropharm" plant in Belgorod to produce cytotoxic medicinal forms for use in oncology. The total capacity of the enterprise has grown to 2,437 kW.

The project to modernize the plant and expand the production of medicines started in Belgorod in 2016. The pharmaceutical enterprise is powered from the 110 kV substation "Vitamin Plant", which also provides power supply to a number of industrial enterprises and individual housing construction micro-districts in the eastern part of the regional centre. Earlier due to intensive development, there was a shortage of power.

An additional opportunity for the progressive development of this territory appeared after the complex reconstruction of the 110 kV "Vitamin Plant" with the increase in the power of the feeding centre from 50 to 80 MW and the replacement of equipment with more modern one. In particular, 110 kV power transformers were equipped with an automatic on load tap changing device, so that the operator can remotely control the voltage level in the grid. Over 190 million rubles were allocated for these purposes (VAT included).

JSC "Veropharm" in Belgorod is implementing a project worth 3 billion rubles to expand production. Most of the produced medicines are included in the list of vital drugs and are supplied to all regions of Russia. This year, in connection with the launch of new production sites and a quality laboratory, an application for an additional capacity increase of another 3,000 kW was received. It is reported that after completion of the modernization program, the plant will fully comply with GMP standards.
