4 February 2018

Power engineers are promptly eliminating consequences of the cyclone that on the night of 4 February passed over the Smolensk and Bryansk regions (the regions of responsibility of IDGC of Centre), as well as the Kaluga, Tula and Vladimir regions, where IDGC of Centre and Volga Region operates. As a result of heavy snow and wet snow, wire breaks occurred on power lines, which led to interruptions in electricity supply to consumers.

According to operational data, a number of socially significant facilities are located in the outage zone, which in the near future should be powered by a temporary scheme.

At present, the power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region are taking all measures for the prompt restoration of power supply. In total, more than 250 repair crews, about 300 vehicles and 29 reserve power supply sources are involved, which are used primarily for feeding socially important facilities.

In case of worsening of the situation, 2,817 crews (more than 14 thousand people and 5,148 automobile and specialized vehicles), including mobile units, as well as resources of contract organizations are ready for prompt response in the branches of both power companies. Also, at their disposal there are about one and a half thousand reserve power supply sources with a total installed capacity of about 49 MW.
