Specialists of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region continue to implement a set of measures to restore electricity supply to the regions affected by the bad weather in the Central Federal District.
Please, be reminded that the atmospheric front with wet snow, rain, strong wind, and sharp temperature jumps, which arrived in Central Russia on the night of 4 February, caused technological disruptions in the work of the power grid complex in the Smolensk and Bryansk regions (regions of responsibility of IDGC of Centre), as well as in the Kaluga, Tula and Vladimir regions, where IDGC of Centre and Volga Region operates.
The power engineers were ready and promptly began to eliminate the consequences of bad weather. First of all, the power supply of socially significant and life support facilities is being restored, if necessary, they are powered by mobile backup sources of electricity. In case of further worsening of the meteorological situation, additional mobile crews from neighbouring branches of the energy companies are sent to the work sites.
At the moment, 255 crews, 838 people and 203 specialized vehicles are participating in the repair and restoration works. All activities are carried out under the control of the headquarters of the energy companies and will continue until the full restoration of electricity supply to consumers. In connection with unstable weather phenomena, all services of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region are transferred to a special mode of operation. An intensive monitoring of the work of the energy facilities and the meteorological situation is conducted.
The power engineers recommend citizens in case of worsening weather conditions not to be near power lines - this can be deadly.
