Smolenskenergo restores power supply to consumers in the region

4 February 2018

Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division continue work to restore power supply to consumers in the Smolensk region, which was disrupted as a result of bad weather. Please, be reminded that a heavy snowfall on 4 February caused power outages in Vyazemsky, Gagarinsky, Temkinsky, Ugransky, Dorogobuzhsky, Yelninsky, Roslavlsky and Smolensky districts. Despite the difficult weather conditions, repair crews of Smolenskenergo have now restored the supply of the main grid in about 60 settlements in the region.

Breaks on some damaged power lines of Vyazemsky, Dorogobuzhsky, Roslavlsky and Yelninsky districts have been eliminated. All large industrial enterprises and socially significant facilities, located in the bad weather area, have been fed.

Restorative work is complicated by deteriorating weather conditions - snow sticking to wires due to sharp cooling freezes. A special difficulty is created by high accidents on roads, which makes it complicated for emergency crews to move to areas of technological irregularities. Nevertheless, the work will be carried out continuously until the complete restoration of electricity supply.

Residents of the region can find out more detailed information about the emergency recovery operations by calling the Direct Line of power engineers at 8 (800) 50-50-15 or 13-50 for fixed telephones or by calling +7 (915) 380-00- 38 in Telegram and Viber (all calls are toll-free).
